Find patterned paper from a scrapbook store or craft store, you can often find them on sale. Finally type or write your wording on to the top layer of plain copy paper, vellum paper or other specialty paper.

Dress in a fancy dress costume of a tiger or other jungle animal, a Tarzan character wearing a loin cloth made from an animal print fabric, make a sash to complete the look.

Photos taken while at the zoo or wild life park. Some parks and playgrounds have jungle animal themed play equipment. Maybe you have a large stuffed toy around the house that you can use.
Computer and clipart invitations
Select some clip art images of any jungle animals lion, elephant, monkey, giraffes and insert them into a word document along with your party invitation wording. Then print them on to your own home printer.
I like to find a nice small image about and inch or so in size, print a bunch on to firm card with about 2" of space between each image, color it if needed and cut a circle border about 2" in diameter. Then I will use it to accent my plain printed invitation by taping it to the invite with some double sided foam tape to make it "pop" from the card. It's very effective and simple to do

How to make a jungle scroll invitation
These scroll invitations were made by Donna for her grandson's 5th birthday celebration. They had a little petting zoo come out to the house (monkey, lizard, porcupine, etc) so it was a jungle safari theme. The invitations were made with a $2.00 roll of brown wrapping paper and a printer so they were super cheap yet lots of fun.
Supplies
-
Brown wrapping paper
-
Printer and computer
-
Scissors
-
candle or lighter
-
Brown raffia, substitute twine, waxed cord, flax
Method
-
Cut the wrapping paper to regular print size and flatten it as much as you can so it won't jam in the printer.
-
Set up a word document to print the party details on to the paper, we used a mixture of free fonts that you can download and install on your computer. We also found a clip art image of an elephant to use as well. The invitation wording reads:
Vincent is turning 5!
We're going to have a wild time
Hope you can be there
where: ...... when: ....... Time:...... -
After printing you can trim it down to size and carefully use a candle to burn the edges of the cards. This is pretty dangerous as the brown paper burns easily so it might be good to set the candle in the kitchen sink and have the water ready just in case.
-
Roll up the cards into a scroll and tied them with cheap brown raffia.
-
I hand delivered most of the invitations but those that had to be mailed were just smashed flat and put in an envelope.
