Movie Wedding Save the Date Cards

For the movie buff couple who are about to tie the knot, why not use your love of film to inspire your save the date cards for your wedding. I know some couples choose to hold either the wedding ceremony itself or the reception at a local theatre so this type of STD will totally tie in with the theme. You might even like to follow the theme for your invitations as well if you intend to have a casual affair.
There are several options open to you that we will explore a little further.

Create a movie poster save the date card. Armed with a camera, a computer, photo editing program and a little imagination you can create a faux movie themed poster.
Use an existing poster or dvd movie cover to help you place the different elements in your STD -
Movie covers to imitate can me 'Meet the flockers' Take a photo of the bride and groom along with both sets of parents. Set the photo on a plain white background just like the dvd cover. You can always use photoshop to take care of most of the details.

Write your save the date in neon lights. Again with a graphics program you can create a movie billboard or theatre marquee sign and fill it with a few lines to save the date. Some simple wording will suffice. For example - Save the date, for a wedding, Starring Julia Stewart and Ross Hamilton. 10.12.2011.

You can approach a Movie theatre and ask them to put your save the date details on the Marquee board while you pose for your engagement photos underneath. Your photographer can capture the details in your photo. Print your cards as a postcard that can be sent directly to your guests without ordering envelopes.

Incorporate a Hollywood type sign for the location of your save the date.

Movie Fonts: some movies have their own fonts, google the movie title and 'font' to see if a free font has been created for the movie you will be emulating.
