Making 10th Wedding Anniversary Invitations
For Colin and Eliza's 10th anniversary, Colin made
these awesome invitations for their anniversary party. Because they
were inviting a few hundred people he decided to make digital invites
which could be easily printed yet they had to be fun, personal and
reflect their personalities. So they made Film Strip invitations.
Inspired by examples of photo booth invitations that he found online,
Colin decided upon this idea and set to work creating the invite in
Adobe Photoshop.
This is how he did it.
-
Take an image of a single film strip and duplicate it several times. You can find one doing a google search for film strip. or you can find a photoshop resource like this Photo Booth Strip brush from coolest brushes.
-
Move each strip on your layout so that it looks like they are placed randomly on a table, some will be overlapping others slightly.
-
Place your photos within each frame.
-
To add the text, they had to take photos of themselves holding up blank sheets of paper. Once the photos were added to the layout the text was applied over the top. This was stuff like the date, time, location and RSVP info.
-
When Colin was happy with the end product the invites were sent of to OvernightPrints.com – a simple and inexpensive printery that they had used before.
